Frank Joseph Sudol, 79, of Ferryville, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2021, at the Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, surrounded by family.

He was born April 11, 1941, in McGregor, Iowa, the son of Frank and Mary (Ambrose) Sudol. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Patrick’s Church in Monona, Iowa. He attended Pleasant Ridge Country School and later graduated from Monona High School in 1958. Frank farmed on the home place east of Monona. He was united in marriage to Diane Zieman on Nov. 23, 1968, at St. Patrick’s Church in Monona. Together they welcomed three sons: Tim, Randy and David. He and Diane moved to Seneca, in 1976, and continued to farm until 1990. Frank then worked for 19 years in real estate, retiring in 2012. In 1995, they moved to a home in Ferryville by the Mississippi River. Frank enjoyed RV camping, hunting, fishing and muscle cars. Above all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Diane; his sons, Tim, Randy and David Sudol; his grandchildren, Aidan, Tucker, Brewer and Allison; his sister, Mailyn Kolker; nieces, nephews and many close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister and her husband, Loretta and Jim McNally; and a brother-in-law, John Kolker.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial is being planned for a future date. The Garrity Funeral Home, of Prairie du Chien, is assisting the family.
