Shirley Ann Kann, 91, of Guttenberg, died Monday, March 15, 2021, at the Guttenberg Care Center.

Funeral services were Friday, March 19, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Guttenberg, conducted by Rev. Marvin Bries. Visitation was before services at the church.

Interment was at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Guttenberg.

Arrangements were handled by Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Guttenberg.

Shirley was born in McGregor on Jan. 13, 1930, the daughter of Walter and Dora (Eberhart) Boyce.

Shirley attended school in McGregor until the age of 9 when her father took a job with the Milwaukee Railroad and moved to North Buena Vista. She attended school in Buenie until she was in 9th grade. Shirley rode the train to Guttenberg so she could attend Guttenberg High School where she graduated in 1947. On Aug. 24, 1948, Shirley was united in marriage with Henry Kann at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Guttenberg. Shirley worked for Caradco in Dubuque and Muter’s Co. in Guttenberg. She was an avid book reader and kept a daily diary. Shirley enjoyed spending time putting puzzle’s together as well as doing word search puzzles and she was a wonderful cook and baker. 

Shirley is survived by her three children, Patricia Corkery of Wadena; Michael (Germaine) Kann of Guttenberg and Kimberly Hale of Brighton, Colo.; grandchildren, Brian Corkery, Stephanie Corkery, Misty Corkery, Robert Wills, Ben Hale and Ryan Hale; great-grandchildren, Alex Corkery, Alisha Leffler, Desaree Leffler, Dallas Leffler, Kaden Corkery, Olivia Wills, Cora Wills and Jack Wills; seven great-great-grandchildren; step grandchildren, Jennifer (Mark) Krupp, Shelly (Zane) Hall and Derick Kann; 14 step great-grandchildren and one step great-great-grandchild.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 2013; four siblings, William Boyce, Betty Hefel, Mae Ewing and Dorina Cocanougher.
