Timothy J. Looney, 61, of Prairie du Chien, passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Rochester, Minn., following a brief illness. 

He was born Sept. 16, 1959, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of James and June (Lestina) Looney. He worked at Wyalusing Academy for many years and later at Design Homes, both in Prairie du Chien. He married Theresa Dundee on April 21, 1979, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in McGregor, Iowa. Tim was an active member of St. John’s Church of the Holy Family Parish, where he served as an usher. He enjoyed cars, raising tropical fish and watching the Chicago Cubs. He was also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed nature. He loved his friends and family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. 

Timothy is survived by his wife of 41 years, Theresa; children, Dan (Bridgitt) Looney and their children Myla and Jace, Brandon Looney, and Amanda (Cody) Trentin and their children Kinslee, Elsa, and Connor; his mother, June Looney; his brother, Todd (Mary Kay) Looney and their children Ryan and Tina Looney; his sister, Lisa (Greg) Storey; Lacey Nelson and her daughter Coralline Looney; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his father, James Looney; and his son, Craig Looney.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Church of the Holy Family Parish, Msgr. Charles Stoetzel officiating with burial in the Calvary Cemetery, both in Prairie du Chien. Friends may call at the Garrity Funeral Home in Prairie du Chien on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of departure for church.
