Neil Delois Morarend passed away Friday, April 16, 2021, at the Strawberry Point Lutheran Home.

Visitation was Wednesday, April 21, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Guttenberg followed by a memorial service. 

Burial will be at a later date.

Neil was born Nov. 13, 1955, in McGregor to Delois and Lois (White) Morarend. He was raised on the family farm by Motor Mill.

Neil was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Elkport and graduated from Central High School, Elkader.

Neil served four years in the Marine Corps and 16 years with the 229th Engineer Company, Wisconsin Army National Guard, he served in Desert Storm, Panama, Honduras and California. Neil then worked for Doug Reimer for over 30 years.

Neil is survived by his beloved spouse of 36 years, Carol Moser; step children, Jennifer (Jerry) Moser, Gwen (Eric) Knutson, Amy (Jason) Moser, and Debbie Jo (Jason) Moser; step grandchildren, Josie Young, Tyler Heidemann, Gavin Moser, Kenzie Hempstead, and John and Nikolas Panagiotou; siblings, David (Kris) Morarend, Barbara (Rollie) Totman; several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Neil is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Randy.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Strawberry Point Lutheran home and St. Croix Hospice (Pastor Pat and Danielle) and other nurses for all the care and compassion for Neil.
