Leonard E. Knoble, 92, of Prairie du Chien, passed away Sunday, April 25, 2021, at Prairie Maison in Prairie du Chien. 

He was born Nov. 6, 1928, the son of Peter and Vera (Eyers) Knoble. He married Helen Collins on Jan. 27, 1951, in Richland Center. Together, they farmed in the Boscobel area and later in the Mt. Hope area retiring in 1983. He worked numerous jobs in and around Prairie du Chien. He enjoyed dances at the Huckleberry’s Restaurant in Prairie du Chien and loved socializing with his family and friends dearly. 

He is survived by his children, Marjorie (Greg) Adkins, Mary (Dave) Knoble-Janney, Joahn Post, Vivian (Brad) Lyman, Leonard J. Knoble, and Melissa (Andy) Banasik; his sisters, Joyce Couey and Meredith Strang; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his wife of 28 years, Helen; two infant daughters; his parents; his siblings Gerand, Ardith, Milton and Millard Knoble and Audrey Wood; his son-in-law, Steve Post; brothers- and sisters-in-law Armin Couey, Myron Strang, Lloyd (Bud) Wood, Beverly and Ruth Knoble; along with Hubert and Daisy, John and Doris, Frank and Mary, Bernard Collins, Vera and Louis, Aggie and Francis O’Brien, Evelyn and Larry Kasfka, Bernadine and Dalbert Colson.

A funeral service will be Saturday, May 1, at 11 a.m. at the Garrity Funeral Home Chapel in Prairie du Chien, with burial in the St. Lawrence O’Toole Cemetery in Mt. Hope. Friends may call at the Garrity Funeral Home on Friday, April 30 from 4 to 7 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of departure for the cemetery. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Prairie Maison for the care Leonard received.
