Prairie softball team hosts triangular
On May 1, the Prairie du Chien Lady Hawk softball team hosted a triangular with Seneca and Barneveld.
The first game was against Seneca. Prairie beat Seneca 11-3 in 5 innings.
Seneca started the scoring by putting up 2 runs in the first inning and 1 run in the second inning.
PdC came back in the bottom of the second and scored 4. Makenna Forde singled on a 2-2 count scoring 2 runs and Ally Wall singled on a 1-2 count scoring 2 runs.
The Lady Hawks racked up 10 hits in the game with Wall, Lili Krahn and Hall each having multiple hits.
Scout Hall pitched the win going 5 innings, giving up 3 runs, only 2 earned, on 6 hits, striking out 3 and walking only 1.
PdC versus Barneveld
Prairie’s second game was against Barneveld. The Lady Hawks fell behind and couldn’t catch up, losing the game 5-0.
Ally Wall was pitching for PdC and pitched 6 innings giving up 7 hits, 5 runs, only 1 of them earned, 7 walks and 6 strikeouts. Scout Hall came in for relief in the seventh with runners on first and second with no outs. She gave up 2 hits, 0 runs, 0 walks and had 1 strikeout.
Kate Mitchell was 2-3 on the day with a double. Scout Hall had the only other hit of the game.
Barneveld over Seneca
In the other game, Barneveld defeated Seneca 12-1.
