MFL MarMac Superintendent Dale Crozier, at the school board’s May 10 meeting, outlined several projects the district is currently working on—or hopes to tackle—using physical plant and equipment levy (PPEL) and sales tax revenue.

Work could include sealcoating parking lots and playgrounds, continuing LED lighting upgrades, making electrical upgrades in the shop/ag room, improving science classrooms, resurfacing the track, getting a new baby grand piano and constructing the elementary addition, along with other smaller projects and continued maintenance to school buildings, grounds and technology.

Staffing changes approved

The board also approved a number of staffing changes at the meeting. Resignations were accepted for Megan Schellhorn for high school student council, Brent Pape for middle school girls track and weight room supervisor, Melissa Haberichter for group and individual speech assistant, Cortney Holm as a paraprofessional, Elsie Meyer as assistant business manager, Sheri Glawe and Jan Stavroplus as teachers and Bernice Fischels for guidance.

New hires include teachers Molly Woodard, Kiersten Winter and Abbey Smith, as well as Lori Vorwald as concession coordinator and Casey Evanson as prom coordinator.

Additionally, the board approved a business manager sharing contract with Eastern Allamakee.
