Lana J. Gratace, 74, of Prairie du Chien, Wis. passed away surrounded by her loving daughters, Thursday, June 10, 2021, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minn.

Visitation was Sunday, June 13, at Garrity Funeral Home, Prairie du Chien.

Funeral services were Monday, June 14, at the Garrity Funeral Home Chapel, Prairie du Chien, conducted by Rev. James Weighner.

Burial was in the Calvary Cemetery, Prairie du Chien.

Lana was born July 8, 1946, at Zeigler Maternity Home in Monona, the daughter of Lyle and June (Hart) Voelzke. She graduated from Prairie du Chien High School in the class of 1963. She married Donald Hadacek on Jan. 10, 1970, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Prairie du Chien. Together they lived in Prairie du Chien and worked at Don’s accounting office. After Don’s passing on Oct. 2, 1978, she started working as the parish secretary at Holy Family Parish (formerly St. John’s Catholic Church). On Nov. 8, 1986, Lana married Mark Gratace. Lana continued to work as the church secretary for the Catholic parish in Prairie du Chien, holding the position for over 30 years. Her husband, Mark, preceded her in death on Sept. 29, 2009. Lana was best known for her candid, sassy demeanor. She loved politics, going to grandchildren’s events, spending time with her girlfriends, and trying her hand at the slot machine.

Lana is survived by her daughters, Chrissie (Emmanuel D’Huyvetter) Alioto, Michelle (Travis) Geuder, and Marcia (John) O’Neill; and grandchildren, Alex, Aidan, and Anthony Alioto, and Noelle Hines and Katy and Callen Geuder.

She was also preceded in death by her parents.
