Raymond Paul Wille, 85, of Guttenberg, died Monday, June 14, 2021, at home surrounded by his family. He was born on Dec. 17, 1935, at home near Clayton, the son of Joseph and Theresa (Schaefers) Wille.

 

Ray received his education locally and farmed the better part of his entire life. On Aug. 23, 1961, Ray was united in marriage with Laura Loecke at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Petersburg. 

 

Ray enjoyed fishing, trail rides, cutting wood, driving along the dike to monitor the Mississippi River levels, drinking coffee at the Stadium with the guys, visiting his siblings, watching western movies, watching Sean Hannity on Fox News, playing Euchre, going to the Blue Grass Festival in Strawberry Point, having a Budweiser, making popcorn and gardening. What Ray really loved was going to his grandchildren’s ball games and spending time with his family.  

 

Ray will be forever loved and cherished by his wife 59 years, Laura; children, Dennis and Nancy Wille; five grandchildren, Trent, Trevor, Trey and Taylor Roehlk and Sawyer Wille; six siblings, Nell Preuss, Mary Hampton, Joseph (Anna) Wille, Rita (John) Lansing, Edward (Agnes) Wille and Theresa Huinker; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

 

Ray was preceded in death by his parents; son, Larry Wille; daughter in law, Lisa Wille; siblings, Josanne Wille, Bernice Phillip, Clara Moser, Bernelda Wille, Dorothy Schmelzer and Theordore Wille.  

 

Arrangements are being handled by Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Guttenberg, where the family received friends on June 16. Funeral service was at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Guttenberg on June 17, Rev. John Moser officiating. Interment was at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Guttenberg.
