Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Gene Hertrampf, 74, passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2021, after a long battle with illness, in his home with his wife Cynthia by his side. 

Gene L. Hertrampf was born into this world April 11, 1947, to his parents Lester and Nileen (Olson) Hertrampf of McGregor, Iowa. He worked as a farmer, truck driver (milkman), and foreman at Gencor/Bituma. He enjoyed listening to country and bluegrass music. He spent his time fishing, camping, stock car racing, and going to tractor pulls with his family. 

Gene is survived by his wife, Cynthia, and his emotional support dog, Princess; six children, Tammy Peters (Tom Woznicki), Missy (Bill) Sautter, Tony Hertrampf, Doug (Tammy) Hertrampf, Tyler Hertrampf (Taylor Linder), Travis Hertrampf, and stepson Justin (Courtney) Brooks; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his three brothers, Dan (Cindy) Hertrampf, Gary Hertrampf, and Michael Hertrampf; and special family members, Karen (Mezera) Hertrampf, Jim Peters, Amelia (Heins) Brimeyer, and Marsha Radar. 

Gene’s celebration of life and luncheon will be held from 12:30 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 27, at Century Hall in Wauzeka. He wanted us to share stories of his life and remember him with love and laughter, not tears and sadness.
