Jeremy Kvamme, 31, of Fennimore, is facing eight charges after a disturbance last week, including strangulation and suffocation-domestic abuse, misdemeanor battery-domestic abuse, two counts of felony bail jumping and four counts of misdemeanor bail jumping, all with repeat-offender allegations.

According to Fennimore police, injuries to the victim, including a black eye—and injuries to Kvamme, including ripped-out stitches—occurred when he and the female victim were fighting over car keys.

Bond was set in Grant County at $250 cash with a no-contact provision, according to court records.

Kvamme has pending charges in Crawford County of second-degree recklessly endangering safety, second-offense operating with a restricted controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine, operating after revocation due to sobriety test refusal, resisting or obstructing an officer, and misdemeanor bail jumping, for a Nov. 13 incident.

Kvamme, formerly of Viroqua and Westby, was bound over for trial on the Crawford County charges Feb. 8, and stood mute Feb. 15, with not-guilty pleas entered on his behalf, according to court records.

A jury status hearing on the Crawford County charges is scheduled for Sept. 8. He was free on a $1,000 signature bond with a ban on possessing or consuming controlled substances except for prescriptions, court records said.

Kvamme faces further Crawford County citations, stemming from Nov. 13, for operating a motor vehicle without insurance, reckless driving endangering safety, and speeding more than 45 mph over the 55-mph speed limit.

He also faces La Crosse County charges of resisting or obstructing an officer, disorderly conduct-domestic abuse threat, and two counts of unlawful use of a phone threatening harm-domestic abuse, for an August 2020 incident. He was freed there on a $1,000 signature bond, according to court records.

A plea hearing is scheduled for Sept. 28, the same date as a plea hearing on another La Crosse County charge of operating after revocation due to sobriety test refusal, also dating back to August 2020.

He was placed on two years probation, including 60 days in jail, in 2019, after he pleaded guilty to Vernon County charges of misdemeanor battery-domestic abuse, misdemeanor bail jumping, misdemeanor battery and four counts of violation of a harassment restraining order for six separate incidents, court records stated.

Kvamme’s probation was revoked later in 2019 and he was sentenced to an additional 90 days in jail. His probation was revoked on the battery charge Jan. 13 and he was sentenced to nine months in jail, according to court records.
