It’s time to get “small town proud” in Luana, when the community hosts its annual Luana Daze celebration on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 28 and 29.

Festivities will kick off Saturday morning, with breakfast—pancakes, eggs and sausage—from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Bloody Mary’s and mimosas will also be available all morning at the Luana Tap.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., check out the car show sponsored by Sautter’s Auto. Awards will be given at 3 p.m.

A bean bag tournament, sponsored by McGregor Fun Bags, will start at 12:30 p.m., and Superior Auto and Luana Smart Shopper will sponsor the Smokey Burnout Contest at 3 p.m.

If you’re hungry, the Luana Fire Department will serve brats and hot dogs starting at noon, then tasty ribeye sandwiches from 5 to 9 p.m.

The day will be capped off with the 15th annual street dance. American Standard, a rock band that covers music from the 1960s to today while putting their own spin on the classics, will perform from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Luana Daze continues on Sunday with the popular tractor pull. Registration starts at 9:30 a.m., and the event will get underway at 11 a.m.

The Luana Fire Department will again offer brats and hot dogs, as well as ribeye sandwiches if there are any left from Saturday.
