Several Crawford County bridge and highway projects completed

Crawford County Highway Commissioner Kyle Kozelka said all county and town/village bridge projects have been completed for this summer including on County H, Tiller Road, Marietta Valley Road and Byers Road.
Kozelka said the county’s Highway Department crew has recently been hard at work paving the overlay on County B between State Highway 27 and County C, and chip sealing the other section of County B, which is between County C and State Highway 131. Stretches of County B had gotten fairly rough.
In addition, some state paving has been completed on State Highway 131 between Barnum and Petersburg, as well as the Orchard Hill on State Highway 171.
When the Mississippi River got low enough this past spring, damaged pilings were removed by the county at Gordon’s Bay Landing located near Lynxville. The pilings had previously been damaged by ice flows.
Kozelka noted that another good thing regarding the Gordon’s Bay Landing is that the Wisconsin DNR hired the county to install new pilings and docks, which was also done this spring.
