Guttenberg's River Park Cruisers are set to hold their 23rd annual car show/cruise on Saturday, Sept. 18. Registration for the car show is from 9 a.m. - noon and begins in front of Clayton Ridge School in Guttenberg at the intersection of Pearl Street and River Park Drive. "Vehicle owners can check in and receive parking directions in front of the school, and register for the car show at the registration table located by the community clock," said organizers.

The car show will be held from noon - 1:30 p.m. followed by trophy awards presented at the Welcome Center north of the tent. The cruise, lead by a 1966 Chevy Caprice owned by Jim and Bonnie Clinton of Guttenberg, will leave at approximately 3:30 p.m and travel to Osterdock, Colesburg and make a pit stop at the Edgewood Fire Department where they will be serving food as a fundraiser. The group will remain there for about an hour before returning to Guttenberg, passing through Littleport and Garber. A dance at Lakeside Ballroom, Guttenberg, will cap off the evening with music by the "Hot Rods." The event will be held rain or shine.

The River Park Cruisers have been in existence for 29 years. The annual event draws approximately 225 classic cars to the car show, with an additional 200 restored vehicles participating in the car cruise. The popular car show also generates approximately six to eight hundred visitors to the  community each year. "The first year we had approximately 30 cars, so you can see we have grown throughout the years," they noted.
