Tracy LeRoy Yager was born Sept. 27, 1952, and passed away Friday, Sept. 10, 2021, after a brief illness, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison.

Tracy was born in Prairie du Chien and graduated from Prairie High School in 1970. After high school, Tracy received an Associate’s Degree in accounting from Western Wisconsin Technical Institute in La Crosse. After graduating, he moved to Baraboo, where he lived most of his adult life. He worked as the manager of sporting goods at Farm and Fleet, followed by many years at Perry Printing. Tracy loved to play fast pitch and slow pitch softball. He was a great card player, especially of Hearts, Euchre, 500, and most of all Cribbage. Tracy loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He earned the nickname of “Snag” at an early age while fishing on the Mississippi River. Later in life, he enjoyed selling sweetcorn at the end of summer with good friend Fuzzy Otto. Tracy loved being around family and ribbing his good-natured siblings, nephews and nieces. He found great joy in watching the Green Bay Packers and teasing his dear friend, Barb, about her “over-the-top” support of the Packers.

Tracy will be missed dearly by his brothers, John (Pat), Tom, and Todd (Leslie), all of Prairie du Chien; special friend, Barb Yager; nephews, nieces, and many great friends in the Baraboo area.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Mary; as well as his sister, Mary Kay.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, Sept. 14, at 11 a.m. at the Garrity Funeral Home Chapel in Prairie du Chien, with burial will be in the Union Lumpkin Cemetery in Bloomington. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of services.
