Fatal school bus accident in Guttenberg

A Guttenberg woman died at the scene after being hit by a school bus on Thursday morning, Sept. 23, near St. Mary's School in Guttenberg.

According to a report from the Iowa State Patrol, Judy Puls, 66, was crossing the street at approximately 7:50 a.m. when she was struck by a school bus driven by Ronnie Moser, 73. The bus was turning south from Herder Street onto South Second Street. Students from St. Mary's and Clayton Ridge school district were on the bus at the time.

The collision remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol, assisted by the Guttenberg Police Department, Clayton County Sheriff's Office, Iowa DNR, and Guttenberg EMS.
