Faye Elizabeth Wahls went home to be with the Lord on Nov. 2, 2021.

Visitation was Tuesday, Nov. 9, at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Garnavillo.

Funeral services were Wednesday, Nov. 10, at Gospel Hall in Garnavillo. Private family burial followed the funeral service.

Faye was born June 26, 1929, to Henry and Gladys (Kregel) Wahls on a farm near Garnavillo.

She was saved by the matchless grace of God on June 13, 1940, by simply trusting in the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ on Calvary’s cross.

Faye graduated from Iowa State University and taught school in Fairfield, and in Garnavillo. Following a year’s nurses’ training in Ann Arbor, Mich., she worked in the Guttenberg Hospital. After this, she returned to teaching again in Garnavillo.

In 1970, she went to Longport, N.J., where she worked in the Gospel Hall Home for 25 years. Upon returning to Garnavillo she cared for her elderly parents. Following their deaths she devoted some of her time to teaching English to immigrants living in Postville.

Faye is survived by her sister-in-law, Carole Wahls, and many nieces, nephews as well as great-nieces and nephews.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Dale Wahls and sister, Maxine Gray.
