Curtis Henry Schroeder, 73, of Guttenberg, died Friday, Nov. 19, 2021, at Iowa City VA Health Care System in Iowa City.

Visitation was Monday, Nov. 22, at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Guttenberg and one hour before services at the church.

Funeral services were Tuesday, Nov. 23, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Guttenberg, conducted by Rev. Michael Ashman.

Curt was born on Sept. 2, 1948, in Elkader, the son of Stanley and Florence (Troester) Schroeder. 

Curt attended school in Guttenberg where he graduated High School with the class of 1968. As a young boy Curt worked beside his parents on the family farm which he continued to do throughout the rest of life on earth. Curt served his country proudly in the U.S. Army from 1969 until he received his honorable discharge in 1971. On Sept. 7, 1996, Curt was united in marriage with Maureen (O’Donnell) Claycamp at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Guttenberg.

Curt will be forever loved and cherished by his wife, Maureen; children, Jessica (Kevin) Wallace and their children, Tyler, Mya, Carter and Olivia; Joshua Steere and his son Brady Steere; Jon (Savanna) Claycamp and their children, Evan, Aidan, Braxton and Alaiyna Claycamp.

Curt was preceded in death by his parents and brother, David, in 1960.

In lieu of flowers and all other styles of sympathy the family requests memorials to be sent to Plagman Barn Northeast Iowa Farm Antique Association which meant the world to Curt.
