Terry J. Lang, 72, of Harpers Ferry, Iowa, passed away Thursday, Nov. 25, 2021, at Crossing Rivers Health in Prairie du Chien, after an extended illness. 

He was born July 31, 1949, the son of Leo and Mercedes (Schmitt) Lang Sr. He graduated from Wauzeka High School and went to work for General Motors. He met his lifelong partner Juanita Robbins and, together, they raised their family in the McGregor area. Terry was an iron worker for Lunda HiBoom for many years until retirement. Terry and Juanita built Grumpster’s Log Cabin Getaway in the early 2000s; they turned it into a successful business before selling to enjoy their time together after retirement. He enjoyed hunting with family and, mostly, with his son Terry Jr. in Hayward, every year. He also enjoyed driving around, traveling through the mountains, flat bottom boat rides as well as their houseboat, and walking the beach while in Florida. He loved busy work, always finding something to keep him moving. 

He is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Juanita; his children, Terry (Robin) Lang Jr., Heidi (Michael) Dickman, Angie (Steve) Schultz, and Suzette (Steven) Wise; his brothers, Leo (Georgia) Jr., Gerald (Shirley), and Lester (JoAnn); his sisters, Jane (Dick) Lang, Patricia Bell, Mary (Bob) Heideman, Suzette (Jerry) Ray and Lisa Shackett; his grandchildren, Megan, Miranda and Mallory Lang, Spencer and Austin Kohls, Samantha (Dylan) Rumph, Logan and Hanna Dickman, Nathan, Sam, and Emma Schultz, Claire and Molly Cunningham; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Rebecca; son, Danny Kohls; brothers-in-law Greg Bell and Bob Shackett. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, Dec. 4, at 2 p.m. at St. Mary’s Church in McGregor, Iowa, Rev. Christopher Podhajsky officiating with burial in the Wauzeka Cemetery in Wauzeka. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 12 p.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Crossing Rivers Health, Veteran’s Memorial Home Health in Waukon, Iowa, or the ALS Association of Iowa. The Garrity Funeral Home, of Prairie du Chien, is assisting the family.
