Dorothy Weyant, 72, of Guttenberg passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Monday, Nov. 29, 2021.

Private family graveside services will be held at a later date. 

Arrangements were handled by Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Guttenberg. 

Dorothy was born on June 14, 1949, in Farmersburg, the daughter of Harold and Lucile (Wilker) Kruse.

Dorothy graduated from the Garnavillo High School in 1967 and went on to obtain her Practical Nurse degree from the Northeast Area One Vocational Technical School in Calmar in 1973. Dorothy worked as an LPN for over 36 years. On May 7, 1988, Dorothy was united in marriage with Tom Weyant and together they were blessed with a son, Jared. 

Dorothy was a longtime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Guttenberg where she was a member of WELCA. She loved working in the garden, growing flowers, needlepoint, watching Iowa Hawkeye and Green Bay Packer football, watching birds at the feeder in the backyard, cooking, baking and most of all the time she spent with company, her grandchildren and family. 

Dorothy will be forever loved and cherished by her husband, Tom; son, Jared (Angela) Weyant; two grandchildren; siblings, Diana (Dennis) Henning, Marie (Lyle) Torrey, Jeanne Ronek and many other relatives and friends. 

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Norbert and John Kruse.
