Ronald A. Ore, 85, of Prairie du Chien, passed away Saturday, Dec. 11, 2021, at Great River Care Center in McGregor, Iowa. 

He was born Feb. 29, 1936, the son of Everett and Helen (Campbell) Hore. Following his graduation from Lancaster High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served for four years. Ron married Carol Sebastian on Jan 2, 1961, at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Prairie du Chien. He worked a number of jobs before starting in maintenance at 3M in the 1970s, and, there he stayed until his retirement. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and loved his dog, Max. He enjoyed working in his yard and working with wood. He was particularly proud of a grandmother clock that he made. Ron was a family man who loved his grandchildren. 

Carol preceded him in death on June 12, 2015. 

He is survived by his daughter, Helen (Gene) Jelinek; grandchildren, Amanda (Matt) Knipfel, Matthew Jelinek and Diana Jelinek, and Miranda and Christopher Klema; and his son-in-law, Ed Klema. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and their daughter, Kathy Klema. 

A Memorial Service will be Thursday, Dec. 23, at 11 a.m. at the Garrity Funeral Home Chapel, Msgr. Charles Stoetzel officiating with burial in the Calvary Cemetery, both in Prairie du Chien. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Military honors will be accorded by the Prairie du Chien Honor Guard.
