Gertrude C. Morovits, 90, of Eastman passed away Friday, Dec. 10, 2021, at Crossing Rivers Health in Prairie du Chien. 

She was born Sept. 20, 1931, the daughter of Emil and Clara (Latham) Graser. She graduated from Boscobel High School before working various different jobs. She then met the love of her life, Aloysius Morovits, and they were married on June 10, 1953, at St. Wenceslaus in Eastman. Together, they farmed and raised their family in the Eastman area for many years. 

Al later preceded her in death on May 24, 1978. Gertrude also served as the president of the Eastman American Legion Post 252 for several years.

She is survived by her two sons, Gary (Marla) and Michael; her granddaughter, Kelly (Gary) Hamann, and their children Gabriel and Reid Hamann; her sisters-in-law, Helda and Marion Graser, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Al; her son, Gerald; and her siblings, Arnold and Donald Graser and Marie Richter.  

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, Dec. 15, at 11 a.m. at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Eastman, Rev. Rajendran Anandan officiating, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 9  a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Wenceslaus. The Garrity Funeral Home, of Prairie du Chien, is assisting the family.
