During the regular Prairie du Chien School Board meeting Monday night, it was noted that the seats held by Board President Lonnie Achenbach, Cassie Hubanks and Lynn O’Kane will be up for election in the spring. The deadline for incumbents to file notice of non-candidacy in 5 p.m. on Dec. 24. The candidate deadline for filing all documents needed to establish eligibility to appear on the ballot is 5 p.m. on Jan. 4, 2022.

In other business, the Student Council asked for Dec. 23 off. The board then approved of having Dec. 23 off for everyone.

The board also briefly discussed the Crisis Management Document (school shooter response). The Crisis Management Document is a yearly document that has to be approved by the board. It was stated that there are drills and a plan in place for school shooter response. The document was approved.

It was also noted that Mayo Clinic will be making a $3,000 Seasons of Gratitude donation to the Prairie du Chien School District for mental health. Mayo Clinic will be working with Adrienne Udelhoven regarding how the money will be used for staff, students, and the community to help support the mental health needs in the school district.
