Marita R. Seitz, 90, passed away on Monday, Dec. 27, 2021, at Lancaster Health Services.

She was born March 8, 1931, in Potosi, the daughter of Art and Laura (Kelly) Burggraf. Marita graduated from Lancaster High School. On Aug. 2, 1949, she married Frank Seitz at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville. For years, Marita worked at the Grant County Abstract Office while raising five girls. She loved playing cards, especially Euchre, 500, and Penny Poker with the girls. Many memorable summers were spent up north with her children and grandchildren. Marita was a die-hard Packer fan who loved to banter with her grandchildren who were rooting for the opposing teams. She was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church until moving to Prairie du Chien in 2006.

Marita is survived by her five daughters: Susan (Robert) Thompson, Lancaster; Vicki Taylor, Prairie du Chien; Barb (Jim) Pink, Clinton; Deb Scoville and Kris Rutherford, both of Prairie du Chien; seven grandsons; four granddaughters; nine great-grandsons; and three great-granddaughters.

In addition to her parents, Marita was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; and two sisters, Sally (Bob) Leibfried and Delores (Jiggs) Hampton; and two brothers, Arnold (Delores) and Norbert (Dorothy) Burggraf.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, Jan. 3, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster with Father William Vernon officiating. Burial will be in St. Clement Cemetery, Lancaster. Visitation will be held on Monday from 9 a.m. until time of services at the church.
