Six MFL MarMac boys basketball players have earned Upper Iowa all-conference honors. Zach Driscoll and Wyatt Powell were named to the first team and Carver Blietz-Bentien and Kaden Stocker to the second team, while Cullen McShane and Parker Kuehl were honorable mention selections.

Driscoll had a stellar freshman season for the Bulldogs, averaging 18.1 points per game—second most in the whole conference. His 53.6 field goal percentage over 17 games was third highest in the UIC, and his 45.5 percent clip from behind the arc was number one. Driscoll averaged 2.6 three pointers each game, and made 45 overall, which was fifth highest among conference players. He was also the top free throw shooter in the UIC, hitting 86 percent of attempts.

Additionally, Driscoll was fifth in the conference with 3.5 assists per game, and was second among MFL MarMac players with 5.4 rebounds and 2.6 steals per game.

Powell played in 22 games for the Bulldogs and was the team’s second leading scorer, at 11.6 points per game. His 255 points overall were 11th most in the conference. Powell also finished the season with 92 assists, an average of 4.2 each game, putting him third in the UIC.

The sophomore was a top defender as well, snagging 69 steals—or 3.1 per contest—which was most on the team and second most among conference athletes. Eight blocks tied him for first among MFL MarMac players, and he had the third highest rebounding average, at 4 per game.

Rebounding was also a key stat for Blietz-Bentien, who was not only the top Bulldog in that category but one of the best rebounders in the conference. His 7.7 over 21 games was fifth most, and he tallied 162 overall, putting him in the seventh spot. At 9.9 points per game, the sophomore was also the fourth highest scorer for MFL MarMac, and he averaged 2.1 assists and 2 steals.

Stocker netted 250 total points in his senior season, an average of 11.4 each night. Many of those came from long range, where he made a conference leading 58 three pointers. His success rate of 42.3 percent was fifth highest in the UIC. Stocker’s stat line also included 3.1 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game, and he tied for the team lead with 8 blocks.

McShane, also a senior, was second among Bulldog players with 6 blocks and had the fifth most rebounds, at 67 total and 3.2 each contest. He averaged 8.3 points per game, 1.7 assists and 1.3 steals over 21 games.

Finally, Kuehl was one of MFL MarMac’s top bench players, contributing 7.1 points per game and 2.5 rebounds each night over 23 games. The freshman’s 42 steals were third most on the team, and he averaged 1.8 per game.
