Three Central boys basketball players recognized

Corey Weber

Central junior Dan McGreal was the team’s top basketball player this season, earning second team all-conference honors in the Upper Iowa Conference. McGreal was one of two players to start all 23 games and finished with a team-high 320 points. He also led the Warriors in shooting parentage with 44.1 percent from the field, and was 35.2 percent on three pointers and 78.9 percent from the free throw line. Additionally, McGreal finished with a team leading 20 blocks and was second in overall rebounds with 108, but led Central in defensive rebounds with 87. He was second in steals with 28 and finished the season with 29 assists.  

 

Seth Bena capped off his senior year earning all-conference honorable mention. Along with McGreal, he started all 23 games for the Warriors, finishing second in points with 125 and in assists with 39. Bena led the team in offensive rebounds with 30 and total rebounds with 112. He added 10 steals and 10 blocks and shot 38.7 percent from the field, 28.6 percent on three pointers and 65.5 percent on free throws. 

 

Another senior, Corey Weber, also earned honorable mention status. Weber started 18 games and led the team in assists with 42 and steals with 30. He contributed 82 points and 62 rebounds and shot 21.3 percent from the field.
