Robert Perry Pierce, 68, died unexpectedly in his home on Monday, March 7, 2022.

Honorary Military Rites ceremony will be held Friday, April 1, at the Veterans Memorial in Guttenberg on River Park Drive at 3 p.m. Following the ceremony, family and friends are welcome to gather at the north park pavilion between 4-7 p.m.

Robert, favorably known as “Keke,” was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on April 7, 1953, to Wilmer and Gloria (Hernandez) Pierce. He enlisted in the US Army in 1971 and served in active duty for four years and the National Guard for 12 years. A couple of the many awards for his service include a national defense service medal and an overseas service ribbon. Robert was honorably discharged from his services. He loved his country and respected all veterans in his local community. Robert volunteered his time as an active member of the American Legion and House of Heroes.

In his free time he enjoyed being outdoors gardening, yard work, hanging out in his garage tinkering with tools, and woodworking. Robert ALWAYS enjoyed having company to hang out on his deck for some cold ones and to make delicious food on the grill/smoker. He made sure to cheer on his favorite teams, the Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Bears, and the Chicago Cubs.

Robert was a devoted husband and married the love of his life on June 10, 2005. He was also a devoted grandfather to Eli, Lucia and Iyla Haig; Silas, Henrick, Greger, Ingerlise and Mateus Newton; Griffin, Megan and Leo Naderman; Jennifer, Bryan, Nick, Joseph, Jacob, Kane, and Kole Curtin; Lillian and Gabriella Potter, and Kinsley and Brynlee Holeman. They were the light of his life. He always tried finding time to be with his children and grandchildren whenever time and health would allow.

Robert is survived by his wife, Audrey Pierce; his children, Steve Naderman (Jenny), Jessica Newton (Andy), Jennifer Pierce Haig (Steve), Lacey Pierce, Stacy Curtin (Chad), Jason Curtin, Joe Curtin (Shanea); his two brothers, Scott and Todd Pierce, three sisters, Shirley Vogt (Tom), Linda Govednik (Al) and Loretta Steele (William) and many nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; brother, William Pierce and grandparents.
