James “Jim” Lee Sullivan, 60, of Strawberry Point, passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids.

Memorial services were Saturday, April 2, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Strawberry Point, conducted by Pastor Lisa Schroder. Visitation was before services at the funeral home.

Inurnment will be at a later date in Campton Oak Hill Cemetery, Lamont.

Jim was born on April 13, 1961, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Warren Dean and Virginia (Cornwell) Sullivan. Jim was raised between Masonville and Lamont and was a 1979 graduate of Starmont High School. He then attended Lincoln Tech School in Des Moines, training as an auto mechanic.

On Aug. 17, 2015, Jim was united in marriage to Kari Long in Strawberry Point. The couple resided in Strawberry Point. Jim worked as a mechanic at Rodas Chevrolet in Strawberry Point for many years. He most recently worked as a parts specialist at Brown’s Ford in Elkader. Jim loved bass fishing and was a member of Iowa B.A.S.S. Nation. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR. Jim especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Kari Long Sullivan of Strawberry Point; one daughter, Stacey (Matt) Miller of Cascade; one son, Caleb (Allison) Sullivan of Lakeland, Fla.; five grandchildren, Kashten, Lennox, and Bowen Miller, and Lyla and Declan Sullivan; two stepchildren, Anthony McMurtry of Independence and Sarah (John) Fletcher of Boone; his mother, Virginia Sullivan of Lamont; his siblings, John (Becky) Sullivan of Manchester and Deb (Tom) Paris of Masonville; his mother-in-law, Linda Long of Strawberry Point; and several nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, Dean Sullivan; one brother, Jeff Sullivan; and his father-in-law, Walter Long.
