The Prairie du Chien boys golf team had a busy week of rescheduled SWC matches. 

The first stop was to the Platteville Country Club on Tuesday, May 10. James Reilly led the Hawks in scoring with a nine-hole score of 46. He was followed by a tie between Logan Higgins and Tyler Steiber with each carding score of 56. Owen Achenbach added a 59 to round out the team score  of 217, tying Dodgeville for 5th place. Khai Warrington struggled, shooting an 82. 

Platteville and Richland Center tied for first place with scores of 189 with Lancaster being one stroke behind with a 190.

The Blackhawks next traveled to the House on the Rock to play the North Course. This was the first time that any of the Blackhawk players had seen or played the North Nine. Facing a very versatile spring of weather, temperatures were in the low 90s with feel like temps at 95 or above. 

James Reilly shot a 41 with Owen Achenbach shooting a 55 leading to one of his best rounds of the year. Tyler Steiber shot a 56. Mason Ihde shot a 57 for his personal best round of the year in varsity play. Logan Higgins rounded out team score with a 66.

The Blackhawks team took 5th place with a 221 team score. Lancaster won this SWC match with 181. River Valley had a 184 on their home course. Richland Center had a 193 with Dodgeville a 224.

After a quick lunch, all teams traveled to Quail Run in Richland Center for a 4 p.m. start for the last SWC nine-hole match for the year. The weather remained extremely hot with lots of water drank to stay hydrated by all players. 

James Reilly shot a 38 to lead the Blackhawks and ended up in a three-way tie for second place. Owen Achenbach had his personal best with a score of 45, Tyler Steiber had a 56, Mason Ihde a 57 and Logan Higgins a 66. 

The nine-hole team score of 196 was the best team score of the year taking 5th place and finally breaking the goal of 200. Lancaster shot a 168 to win the SWC event, Platteville 181, Richland Center had 186 with River Valley at 193 and Dodgeville 203.

The Blackhawks will travel to Lake Wisconsin Golf Course for the final 18-hole SWC event on Wednesday, May 18 before participating in the WIAA Regional at the Prairie du Chien Country Club on Tuesday, May 24.
