On a beautiful Friday evening, the Prairie du Chien/River Ridge/Seneca Hawks hosted the Platteville/Lancaster Hillwomen for their second girls soccer match of the season.
The Hawks celebrated Senior Night, and honored their four seniors, Clare Fritsche, Hailie Myers, Jillian Kruempel, and Megan Steiber.
With those seniors leading the way, the Hawks took on an experienced Hillwomen team, holding the Hillwomen scoreless for the first 20 minutes. The Hillwomen finally connected for two first half goals, making the halftime score 2-0 Hillwomen.
The Hawks continued to play tenacious defense in the second half, but notwithstanding those efforts, the Hillwomen connected for two additional goals.
Despite a 4-0 loss, the Hawks showed significant improvement from their first contest against the Hillwomen.
The offensive effort was led by Tessa Czajkowski Higgins with 6 shots on goal. Goalkeeper Jillian Kruempel had 7 saves for the evening.
