Susan Lynn Hefel, 61, of Guttenberg, died Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at Guttenberg Municipal Hospital in Guttenberg. 

Funeral services were Friday, May 20, at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Guttenberg, conducted by Deacon James Pfaffly. Visitation was before services at the funeral home.

Interment was at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, North Buena Vista.

Sue was born the 17th day on a cold January morning in 1961 to Ronald and Edna (Reinker) Houselog at Finley Hospital in Dubuque Sue was one of six children.

On August 13th Sue was married to the man that she was meant to spend the rest of her life with, and on that day she married Dan Hefel at their home. She spent her married life taking care of what she loved the most, her family and friends.

Left to honor and cherish her memory is her husband of 33 years, Dan; son, Jesse; mother, Edna Houselog; siblings, Daniel (Joan) Houselog, Rick (Carol) Houselog, Randall (Nancy) Houselog, and Tina (Chris) Gau; sister-in-law, Debbie Houselog, along with many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Sue was preceded in death by her father and brother, Ronald Houselog Jr.

In lieu of flowers and all other types of memorials the family asks that all memorials be directed to a memorial fund that will be established in Susan’s name.
