Gary Krugger, 74, of Giard, passed away Friday, July 1, 2022, at Crossing Rivers Health in Prairie du Chien, Wis., due to previous health issues. He was born Dec. 3, 1947 in Iowa City, to Lester and Ruth (Knickerbocker) Krugger. Gary attended Giard Country School and McGregor School.

 

Gary was united in marriage with Eteri Kvrivishvili on Oct. 8, 2000. Throughout the years, Gary was employed at the Gold Mine Farm in Giard, the Turkey Plant in Postville and retired from Agri Processing Plant in Postville. After retiring, he enjoyed working in his orchard harvesting grapes, apples, pears and cherries for family and friends. Gary also enjoyed mushroom hunting every spring and fishing.

 

Surviving Gary are his siblings, Marian (Kenneth) Siegenthaler of Wauzeka, Wis., Susan Krugger of McGregor, Roger (Mary Kay) Krugger of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Carolyn Sanderson of Cedar Rapids, Nancy (Ron) Dennler of Farmersburg, Dennis (Julie) Krugger of El Paso, Ill., and Steven Krugger of Oelwein; and many nieces and nephews.

 

Preceding Gary in death are his wife, Eteri Krugger; parents, Lester and Ruth Krugger; sisters, Sandra Plagman and Angela Gyorko; and his grandparents.

 

A visitation and memorial service was held on July 7, at Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Monona, with Pastor Linda Hauschild as the officiant. Inurnment will follow in the Giard Cemetery, Giard.

 

Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Monona is assisting the family with arrangements.
