Scott A. Larson, 59, of Prairie du Chien, passed away Friday, Aug. 5, 2022, at home surrounded by his family. 

He was born in Little Falls, Minn., on June 6, 1963, the son of Gary and Ruth (Lynch) Larson. He grew up in Gays Mills, and attended North Crawford High School where he graduated with the class of 1981. Scott then served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He traveled the country working construction and operating heavy machinery. Scott married Debbie Fletcher and, to this union, three children were born. Scott was later married to Laura Halverson but then divorced. Scott loved hunting and fishing and helped mentor his nephews and other young hunters partaking in youth hunts. He was so very proud to have achieved his seven-year anniversary of sobriety. He loved spending time on the Kickapoo River in the woods and with his family. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. 

He is survived by his children, Leah Culbertson (Nampa, Idaho), Amanda (Greenville, Ill.), and Anthony Larson (Prairie du Chien); his mother, Ruth Skelly (Prairie du Chien); his siblings, Lori (Jerry) Bekkum  of Prairie du Chien, Dawn Cullen of Gays Mills, Dana (Doug) Enke of Gays Mills, and Erin (Dale Stormoen) Sanders of Prairie du Chien; his grandchildren, Tatum, Connor, Janaya, Jaxon, Rosalie, and Ryder; his nieces and nephews, Brittany Wallace and Jordon McCann, Roman Pervisky, Allison Myers and Kylie Cullen, Dustin and Dylan Enke, and Sydney and Seth Sanders; his step-father, Terry (Judy) Skelly of Sextonville; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Gary Larson; his maternal grandparents, Clayton and Mildred Lynch and; his paternal grandparents, George and Lenore Larson.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Aug. 27, at the Old Community Building in Gays Mills (212 Main St.) from 1 to 4 p.m., with the service at 2 p.m. The family requests that you wear camouflage or Green Bay Packers attire. 

The Garrity Funeral Home, of Prairie du Chien, is assisting the family. The family has established a memorial fund, which will be donated to support the location of Scott’s AA meetings, and also a donation will be made to the Gays Mills Youth Hunt in Scott’s name.
