Robert J. Lenz

 July 10, 1937 - August 18, 2022

Robert J. “Bob” Lenz, 85 of Prairie du Chien, and formerly of Wauzeka, passed away on Thursday Aug. 18, 2022 at Boscobel Care and Rehab in Boscobel.

He was born July 10, 1937 in Wauzeka. The son of John and Alice (Johnson) Lenz Sr. He married Jane Shipley on Nov. 7, 1998 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Boscobel. Bob was very much an outdoorsman. He looked forward every year for his two sons, Rod and Dan, his grandsons and granddaughters to hunt wild duck, turkey and deer together. Springtime was another exciting time for Bob as he and his brother, John Jr., would set out bank poles and set lines to catch the big catfish. He also enjoyed doing wood carvings and woodworking projects. Bob was very committed to his wife Jane and his families. Very kind, wonderful, father, to all his children, step-children, and grandchildren. Bob had a certain wit and charm about him, he could turn a gloomy day into an array of sunshine. 

He is survived by his wife, Jane Lenz of Prairie du Chien; two sons, Rodney (Courtney) Lenz of Tempe AZ., Daniel (Sara) Lenz of Blue Mound; two daughters Jennifer (Jeff) Corona of Cedarburg, Jane (Ethan) Green of Pewaukee; two stepchildren, John (Val) Degnan of Wauzeka, and Lynn (Doug Rector) Byrne of Wauzeka; 13 grandchildren; one brother, John (Mary) Lenz of Wauzeka; A sister Mary (Frank) Maxwell of Milton. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Richard and Frank Lenz; a sister-in-law, Marge Lenz, and a Grandson, Calvin Lenz.

Memorial Services were held on Tuesday Aug. 23, 2022 at 11 a.m. at the Kendall Funeral Home in Boscobel. Burial in the Wauzeka Cemetery. Friends could call on Tuesday Aug. 23, 2022 from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the Kendall Funeral Home in Boscobel. Military honors were accorded by the Blake-Semrad Post #134 American Legion and the Gilbertson-Pitzer-Radley VFW Post #10303 both of Boscobel. In lieu of flowers memorials were made to St. Peter Lutheran Church in Prairie du Chien.
