Calvin Eugene Corlett, 70 of McGregor, Iowa died unexpectedly Monday, Sept. 12, 2022 at his home.

Calvin was born Jan. 17, 1952 to Ralph J. and Olga (Eggen) Corlett in Waukon, Iowa. After graduating high school, Calvin served in the United States Army. On Jan. 18, 1988, Calvin was united in marriage with Linda Corlett, two daughters were born to this union, Rusty and Randi. Calvin will be remembered as a strong and kind man. He could strike up a conversation with a wall; he was just that gosh darn charismatic. Calvin was an avid car enthusiast. He could spout off any make or model, what kind of engine a vehicle had, all the way down to what size wrench you would need to pull out any certain part. He could take you anywhere blind folded (literally). He knew the roads like they were constructed by his own hands, from here to Timbuktu. He had an immaculate memory. He knew everyone and where they resided, down to the color of their house. Traveling with him was a breeze, no GPS needed. His quick wit and funny jokes made the ride so entertaining. His beloved dog Lola was his most prized companion. They did everything together. He usually described her as his perfect girlfriend because she only gave him a hard time when she had to potty or wanted to take a drive in the country. They were inseparable. His greatest joys in life were his family and friends. He loved them with every ounce in his body. Calvin would give anyone the last dollar in his wallet and the shirt off his back. He never wanted to see anyone go without. Calvin had a heart of gold and the most selfless soul, and there is no one in the world like him.

Surviving Calvin are his wife, Linda Corlett of McGregor, Iowa; daughters, Rusty (Michael) Stram of McGregor, Iowa and Randi Corlett of Marquette, Iowa; step-son, Scott (Brandee) Wilker of Stoughton; grandchildren, Rylie, Jordyn, and Braden Wilker, Sawyer Ehde, Forrest and Bear Stram; his siblings, Cathryn (Dennis Brooks) Corlett of Monona, Iowa, Mina (Ken) Siewert of Merrill, Morris Corlett of Prairie du Chien, Blane (Cheryl K.) Corlett of McGregor, Iowa, Matt (Cheryl J.) Corlett of Prairie du Chien, Neil Corlett of McGregor, Iowa, Kari Dohse of McGregor, Iowa, Andy (Guenna) Corlett of Garnavillo, Iowa and Randy Corlett of Prairie du Chien.
