The MFL MarMac volleyball team went 0-2 last week, dropping games to Waukon and Turkey Valley.

The Indians visited Monona Sept. 26, sweeping the Bulldogs 25-14, 25-20 and 25-7. They proved dangerous at the net, racking up 35 kills on 101 attempts and combining for eight total blocks. Serving was also strong for Waukon, with a 91.8 percent efficiency and nine aces.

MFL MarMac faced similar results at Turkey Valley the following night. The first two sets were close losses, 25-21 and 25-22, but the team faltered in the third—a 25-9 result. The Trojans totaled 32 kills in this game and managed two blocks. Their serve efficiency dipped to 88.7 percent, but the ones over the net were hard for the Bulldogs to handle. Almost a quarter of Turkey Valley’s 63 successful serves were aces.

No individual statistics were available for MFL MarMac at press time.

The Bulldogs are now 3-14 overall and 1-3 in the Upper Iowa Conference, according to the Go Bound Iowa website. They will continue conference play this week, heading to North Fayette Valley on Oct. 4, then hosting West Central on Oct. 6.
