David E. Judge III
David Edward Judge III, 73, of Elgin, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2023, at Aase Hagen Senior Services in Decorah.
A celebration of life is planned for later this year.
Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Elgin assisted the family with services.
David was born Dec. 3, 1949, in Burbank, Calif. He grew up listening to the Beach Boys and surfing the beaches in California
He graduated from Burroughs High School in Burbank, Calif. in 1969. David continued his education and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science at Los Angeles Technical College.
On March 7, 1981, David was united in marriage with Leigh Ann Taylor in Burbank, Calif. They raised three children. Throughout the years, David worked for Black and Decker and Price-Pfister in San Fernando, Calif.
In 2004 they moved to Northeast Iowa to enjoy a slower life style. In his spare time, David enjoyed golfing, boating on the Mississippi River and traveling. His greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Surviving David are his wife, Leigh Ann Judge of Elgin; his children, Jeannine (Jason) Grigry of Lake Butler, Fla., Brandy (Jeremy) Ruckdashel of West Union and David E. (Victoria) Judge IV of Prairie du Chien, Wis.; six grandchildren, Melissa Bromley, Cody Bromley, Brice Burgin, Brooke Burgin, David E. Judge V and Emelia Judge; brother, Jeffrey (Caitlyn) Chandler of San Diego, Calif.; and his cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Betty Judge; and one brother, Milton Gross.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Aase Haugen Care Facility or the charity of your choice.
