Steven L. Slade, 58, of Guttenberg passed away Thursday, March 9, 2023.

Visitation will be held from 3-7 p.m. on Friday, March 17, at Morris Funeral Home in Guttenberg. Visitation will continue at the funeral home from 10-10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral service.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 18, at Morris Funeral Home in Guttenberg with burial at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Guttenberg.

Steve was born on June 27, 1964, in Benkleman, Neb., the son of Leonard and Virginia (Buker) Slade. He attended Woodbine Community High School. After graduation, he served with the Army National Guard.

Steve worked for the Coca-Cola Bottling Company for 10 years. He then drove semi for a few years. Steve moved to Northeast Iowa in 2006, where he was employed at FarmTek in Dyersville.

Steve loved the outdoors. He could be found hunting, fishing, and boating. Most of all he loved spending time with Von and their many friends and family.

Survivors of Steve include his spouse, Von Randall of Guttenberg; children, Jessica Mann of Tripoli, Shannon Mann of Aurora, Colo. and Sara Finch (Thede) of Des Moines; two brothers, Larry Slade and Tim Slade; a special aunt, Gwen Arps; in-laws, Steve (Jane) Staebler, Linda (Jeff) Evers, Patty (Brent) Reynolds, Sue (Tim) Oberbroeckling, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James Slade; and in-laws, Lavern and Phyllis Staebler.
