Local help

A representative from WIOA is available Thursday mornings, from 10 a.m.- noon at the Guttenberg Municipal Hospital & Clinics Family Resource Center located at 514 South River Park Drive, Guttenberg.

What is WIOA?

The purpose of WIOA is to increase individual's access and opportunities for employment, education, training, and support services. Youth, adults, dislocated workers and long term unemployed individuals may be eligible for these additional services.

Adult services

Any adult displaced worker seeking employment can take advantage of the program, but low-income individuals and veterans are high priority.

WIOA also serves people with criminal backgrounds, helping them overcome barriers and learn how to create a dialog about their past with future employers.

Youth/Young Adult Program

Youth ages 14-24, who are experiencing life challenges including financial issues; foster care placement; prior or active court involvement; pregnancy or parenting; school credit issues; reading and math skills below grade level; unemployment/underemployment, or other barriers to success qualify for the program.

Education assistance

WOIA can help assist qualifying individuals interested in furthering their education by identifying an appropriate training program, providing guidance to help reach education goals, and offering financial assistance to help cover the cost of tuition, books, required tools and equipment, transportation and daycare.
