MFL MarMac girls wrap track season in Monticello

The MFL MarMac girls track and field team closed out its season May 11, at the Class 2A state qualifying meet at Monticello.
Junior sprinter Hannah Bogdonovich narrowly missed a berth into the state tournament after placing third in the 400-meter dash. Her time of 1:04 was roughly three seconds behind the race winner.
Other sprint results included respective 16th- and 23rd-place finishes for Melanie Ruff and Ariana Fish in the 100. Bayleigh Wood claimed 22nd in the 200, followed by teammate Maria Stavroplus in 23rd. Wood also turned in a 20th-place result in the 100 hurdles.
The distance races included a 13th-place time for Evelyn Ruff in the 800-meter run. Audrey Ruff took 16th in the 1500.
MFL MarMac competed in just two relays at districts, placing ninth in the distance medley and 11th in the 4x100. Stavroplus, Wood, M. Ruff and E. Ruff made up the distance med team, while E. Ruff, Bogdonovich, Stavroplus and M. Ruff comprised the 4x100.
The field events saw Wood place 16th in the long jump and Fish 17th. Fish also earned 17th in the shot put.
