Bulldogs lose baseball opener

The MFL MarMac baseball team lost last week’s season opener 4-1 at Starmont.
The Bulldogs scratched out just five hits—all singles—against the Stars. That included two apiece from Landon Johnson and Ben Krambeer and one by Jacob Schellhorn.
Six separate players also drew walks. One of those, Parker Kuehl, came around to score on an RBI by Krambeer.
Senior pitcher Austin Evanson allowed five hits, a walk and two earned runs over four innings. Starmont’s other two runs came against Nick Krambeer, who surrendered three hits and a walk, but struck out four batters, in two innings of work.
MFL MarMac hosted a varsity doubleheader against Postville on May 23, then traveled to Midland May 24. The team will wrap the week with two games at Kee on May 25.
