Kathleen Ella Probert-Lantaff, 81, of Crawford, Neb., passed away May 9, 2023, at Regional West Medical Center at Scottsbluff, Neb. She was born Feb. 8, 1942, in Volga, to Glen and Mary (Stence) Probert.

Kaye grew up on a small farm outside of Volga with her loving parents and her six incredible sisters (The Probert Girls!) Kaye loved the farm life and preferred being outside working or riding the family horse “Pat” whenever she could. Kaye attended Volga High School, and graduated with the class of 1960. During high school, her enthusiasm for playing basketball earned her the nickname “Half Pint with a Quart of Energy!”

Kaye lived and raised her children in Cedar Falls, where she worked painting, wall papering and cleaning many homes and businesses in the area. She was a perfectionist in all that she did.

Kaye was united in marriage to Jack Lantaff on July 7, 1996. She enjoyed being a homemaker and decorating her home. She always had a smile and loved her family and friends, who she would do anything for! She enjoyed riding Harley Davidson motorcycles with her husband Jack, as well as camping, traveling, watching rodeos, listening to blues music at Sturgis Falls Days and celebrating St. Patrick’s Day.

Kaye was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Mary; sisters, Pat Shea and Mary Ellen Probert; niece, Sherry Shea; and brothers-in-law, Dan Shea, Clark Burgin and Duke Luther.

Survivors include her husband Jack of Crawford, Neb.; her children, Steve  Clark of Winona, Minn., Christine (Chuck) Benton of Cedar Falls, Bill Hennager of Kalispel, Mont., and Traci Harrison of Crawford, Neb.; her grandchildren, Rachel Clark of Castlewood, S.D., Matt (Ellie) Clark of Owatonna, Minn., Forrest Benton of Cedar Falls, Holli Benton of Des Moines, Sloan Colvin of Deaver, Wyo., and Cassi Moore (Logan) of Deaver, Wyo.; her sisters, Martha Burgin of Oelwein, Glenda Wytaske (Gary) of Hastings, Minn., Teresa Kocourek of Hopkins, Minn., and Cindy Luther of Brooklyn Park, Minn.; as well as many nieces and nephews who she adored, and many friends.

Visitation and Mass of Christian Burial were held May 20, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Volga, with celebrant Rev. John Haugen. Interment was at St. Joseph Cemetery, Wadena.
