Wauzeka-Steuben Volleyball earns pair of conference wins following first loss

The Wauzeka-Steuben Hornets volleyball team suffered their first loss of the season on Tuesday, Sept. 5 when they dropped their conference opener to Ithaca in four sets (17-25, 23-25, 25-16, 12-25) at Wauzeka-Steuben High School.
The Hornets didn’t have to wait too long for the opportunity to bounce back as they traveled to De Soto on Thursday, Sept. 7 for matches against La Farge/Youth Initiative and Weston, with the Hornets earning a win in both matches.
First up was La Farge/Youth Inititative and Wauzeka-Steuben took care of business with a three set victory (25-16, 25-18, 25-16).
The Hornets ended the night by also sweeping Weston in three sets (25-10, 25-23, 25-16).
Following a tough road match at North Crawford on Tuesday, Sept. 12 that saw the Hornets fall in five sets after dropping the first two to the Trojans (22-25, 16-25, 25-13, 25-16, 13-15), the Hornets traveled to Ithaca on Thursday, Sept. 14 as the Hornets fell in three sets to the Bulldogs (11-25, 18-25, 20-25.
Wauzeka-Steuben played host to Prairie du Chien on Saturday, Sept. 16 as the Hornets dropped the match to Hawks in three sets (20-25, 12-25, 23-25).
The Hornets continued their home stand by hosting De Soto on Tuesday, Sept. 19 and Kickapoo on Thursday, Sept. 21
