Golf season underway for Bulldog boys and girls teams

The golf season is underway for both the MFL MarMac boys and girls teams. 

 

The Bulldog girls tallied a team score of 475 to place fourth in the Ed-Co Girls Invite at Lone Pine Country Club on April 6. East Buchanan had three of the top five golfers—including medalist Brooklyn Kelchen and co-runner-up Eden Brady, who had respective scores of 99 and 103—to win the 18-hole meet with a 422. Monticello came in at 457 and host Edgewood-Colesburg 461. Don Bosco’s 485 put them fifth behind MFL MarMac, and West Central did not field a team score.

 

Bulldog junior Morgan Jacobson tied for 10th after shooting a 115. Devon Meyer and Kaylin Garbes earned a respective 117 and 119 to place 13th and 14th, while Hannah Jacobson shot a 124 and was one of three golfers who tied for 17th. Taylor Randall placed 29th with a 175.

 

In the 18-hole Ed-Co Boys Golf Invite at Woods Edge Golf Course, MFL MarMac finished third with a team score of 332. Marion led the pack with a 320, followed by Cascade at 326. Monticello trailed the Bulldogs with a 336, then Don Bosco at 349, East Buchanan 371 and Ed-Co 385. Clayton Ridge did not field a team score.

 

Josh Noll from Marion turned in a 76 and was the top individual, while teammate Lawson Berndt was the runner-up with a 77. MFL MarMac junior Ben Krambeer tied for third after shooting a 78. Nick Krambeer and Quinn McGeough were the next Bulldog finishers, tied for 11th with scores of 82. Sawyer Keehner tied for 24th with a 90, Jarett Hanson was 45th with a 97 and Kyle Tilson shot a 115 to place 40th.

 

The MFL MarMac girls competed in another 18-hole meet, this time in Guttenberg, on April 8, then hosted Postville and Waukon in an April 9 triangular. The boys also took on Postville and Waukon on April 9, but at Waukon Golf and Country Club.
