The Seneca-Wauzeka-Steuben Bluegolds began Six Rivers Conference play last Friday night when they hosted Iowa-Grant at Seneca High School.
The visiting Panthers gave S-W-S a rude conference welcome, handing the Bluegolds a 28-24 defeat to claim their first victory of the season.
The Bluegolds got on the scoreboard first thanks to a 40-yard touchdown run by Carson Sime in the first quarter.
Sime would later on add a fumble recovery return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter to turn a 20-17 deficit into a 24-20 lead for S-W-S.
The Panthers were able to score one more time in the game as they earned a wild 28-24 comeback win. No other stats were available at press time.
Iowa-Grant improves to 1-2 overall and 1-0 in the Six Rivers Conference, while Seneca-Wauzeka-Steuben falls to 1-2 overall and 0-1 in the conference.
The Bluegolds will look to snap their two-game losing skid this Friday night when they travel to Riverdale.
