Holst, Ruegnitz medal again for Warriors

It was another successful cross-country meet for the Central boys team, capping off the Waukon Invitation in third place, only losing to 2A and 3A schools, while beating all schools in the conference.
Gavin Holst and Carson Ruegnitz were both medalist, running course best times. Holst finished in 12th with an 18:02.6 and Ruegnitz placed 17th with a time of 18:33.8. Jesse Polkinghorn finished in 28th, followed by Henry Reimer in 31st, Tyce Zittergruwn was 41st, and Declan Finley was 47th.
The Warriors also sent a group of runners into the JV boys race, where they also finished in 3rd place, beating all 1A and conference schools in this race as well. Vaughn Zittergruen was the top finisher for Central, placing 24th, with Michael White crossing the line in 38th, Bryce Heller was 41st, Carter Kruger finished in 43rd, Breckon Holst was 55th, and Griffin Koehn placed 71st.
The girls all ran in the JV race, with Blair Scherf and Coral Rork winning ribbons. Scherf finished in 10th place with a 24:11.5, while Rork was 17th with a final time of 24:43.9. Alexis Thiese was 27th with a season best time of 25:38.4 and Hannah Friedlein also had a season best time of 26:33.7 to finish in 43rd. Aspen Rork placed 81st, followed by Lily Becwar in 82nd, Mya Gregerson in 89th, and Brooke Tieden was 102nd.
The Warriors will run again on Tuesday, October 1st at Jesup with races beginning at 4:15pm.
