  January 22, 1963–December 29, 2024

Deanna L. Koresh, age 61 of Prairie du Chien, passed away Sunday, Dec. 29, 2024, at home surrounded by her family, following a courageous battle with cancer.

 She was born on Jan. 22, 1963, to Roger and Peggy (Saunders) Lund. Deanna grew up in Wauzeka and graduated from Wauzeka High School with the class of 1981. 

She furthered her education at Southwest Technical College in Fennimore, where she obtained her associate degree in cosmetology. 

She worked as a hairdresser and waitress at Coaches Restaurant in Prairie du Chien. She later worked at Cabela’s in Prairie du Chien for several years. 

Deanna married Todd Koresh on Sept. 11, 1999, at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Prairie du Chien. Together, they owned and operated Eunice’s Liquor and Cheese Store in Prairie du Chien. 

She enjoyed baking and canning food, as well as walking and braiding hair. Deanna loved her children and all her family, and she took great joy in their company. 

She is survived by her husband of 25 years Todd; two daughters Peggy and Sadie Koresh; nine siblings Lois Basso, Roger (Cathy) Lund, Betty Konichek, Debra Lund, Ryan Lund, Richard (Ann) Markin, Teek (Folko) Landvogt, Marcia Markin, and Stacey (Jerry) Reed; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Robert Lund and Linda Lund Klemm.

Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, Jan. 4, at 10 a.m. at St. John’s Church of the Holy Family Parish in Prairie du Chien, Fr. Brandon Guenther officiating with burial in the Wauzeka Cemetery in Wauzeka. 

Friends were able to call the Garrity Funeral Home on Friday, Jan. 3, from 5–8 p.m., where there will be a Vigil Service held at 7:45 p.m.
