Phyllis J. Tichenor November 29, 1933– March 23, 2025
Phyllis J. Tichenor, age 91, of Bagley, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2025, at Prairie Maison in Prairie du Chien.
She was born to Andrew and Eleanora (Brinkman) Kirschbaum on Nov. 29, 1933.
She married Kenneth D. Tichenor on Sept. 10, 1955, at St. John’s Church in Patch Grove.
Phyllis worked at Prairie City Bank for over 40 years before retiring to spend time with her family and friends. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life — whether it was spending a quiet afternoon hunting or fishing, testing her luck at the casino or enjoying the company of her dear pug, Midge.
Above all, she treasured the time she shared with her beloved husband, Kenneth. Their bond was the cornerstone of her life, and the moments they spent together will be forever cherished by all who knew them. She is survived by her sons Gary (Susie) of Prairie du Chien, and Bruce (Jen) of DeForest, along with her grandchildren Lindsey and Lexi.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth, her sister Janice (Kirschbaum) Miller and nieces Cheryl (Robert) Haberichter and Georgia (Bruce) Rieck. The family would like to extend its heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff at Prairie Maison for the care and attention they showed Phyllis throughout her stay.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, March 28, at 11 a.m. at St. Gabriel’s Church of the Holy Family Parish, Fr. Brandon Guenther officiating with burial in the Calvary Cemetery, both in Prairie du Chien.
Friends may call at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed, in Phyllis’s name, to the Couleecap Food Pantry in Prairie du Chien.
