Rotary Club to host after party at Oktoberfest

The Prairie du Chien Rotary Club will host an "after party" following this year's Oktoberfest event on Saturday, Oct. 18.

Oktoberfest begins that morning and lasts until 5:30 p.m.

At 5:30, the Rotary Club's party begins with musical entertainment provided by Live Wire and 2 for the Road, who will play until 11 p.m.

The main attraction is a beer pong tournament that will include as many as 64 teams. The contests start at 6 p.m., and registration begins an hour beforehand.

According to Ben Achenbach, of the Rotary Club, a combined $1,000 in prizes will be awarded between the top three teams in the tournament.

Throughout the evening, television will play football games, and the patrons can enjoy a wide selection of name-brand beverages.

"We've got a lot of options available: all the Miller, Coors, Anheuser-Busch and even seltzers," said Achenbach.

The Rotary Club will also have a calendar raffle with a $500 prize awarded that night and a winner for each day of November.

Proceeds from the after party will go toward the Rotary Club's band shelter project and Operation Santa.
