October 24, 1951–December 2, 2025
Debra (Deb) Wehrle age 74 of Mount Hope passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at her home surrounded by family. Deb, the daughter of Paul Myers and Nancy Biddick, was born October 24th, 1951. She was united in marriage to Gregory Loren Wehrle on December 23rd, 1972, at the Livingston Methodist church.
Deb grew up spending what time she could with Grandma Babe (Anita) at the telephone switch office and Grandpa Oop (Loyal) at Alley Oop’s bar in Livingston. She learned how to sew and make ceramic figurines in the kiln, under the watchful eye of Grandma Mildred Biddick. Deb lived all over the country, but home was in the Livingston area where she spent most of the time with her Myers’ uncles who were all just a few years older than she was.
Deb graduated from Kent-Meridian High School in Kent, Washington in 1969. After high school, she continued her education at Southwest Tech in Fennimore where she completed degrees in Stenography in May of 1970 and graduated again with a Secretarial Science degree in 1978. Deb earned many lifelong friends during her time at SWTC including her husband, Greg.
In 1973, Greg and Deb took over the family farm operations from Greg’s parents, Harles & Nelda, raising sheep, hogs, and beef cows. Deb worked for PCA, Farm Credit Services in Lancaster, Farmers Telephone, Home-a-Gins in Mount Hope, Cabela’s and Walmart in Prairie du Chien, as well as cleaning the New Horizons gas station in Lancaster. After her retirement and Greg’s passing, she enjoyed playing Euchre at Lulu’s Bar.
Deb kept herself busy with many hobbies. She enjoyed gardening, watching the Packers & Badgers, cross stitch, word games and puzzles, as well as going on trips to see new sights, or to visit family. She collected a variety of depression glassware. Cobalt Blue was her favorite. She also collected a variety of others for her daughters-in-law. Her favorite pastime was spent compiling many miles on her John Deere Gators with Greg by her side traveling throughout Grant County and the neighboring counties. Sometimes, by way of the Cassville Ferry, you would find her over in Iowa. The frequent trips to Montfort for ice cream also became an excuse to visit old friends and family.
Deb’s biggest pride and joy was watching her grandchildren. She enjoyed babysitting them whenever she got the chance. As they got older, she looked forward to watching their sports and other River Ridge school programs.
Deb is survived by her three sons, Chad (Renee) Wehrle, Ryan (Melissa) Wehrle, and Kurt (Jennifer) Wehrle. Brothers Alan Myers, and Robert (Denise) Myers. Brother-in-law Jerry (Judy) Wehrle, stepbrothers Thomas and Buddy (Loyal) Myers, and stepsister Melinda Krell Banicki (Don). Her aunt Barb Myers, her uncle Denny (Diane) Myers, eight grandchildren Myles (Kylie), Amelia, Levi, Abigail (Taylor), Mandi, Madelyn, Cameron and Luke Wehrle. Deb was preceded in death by her husband Greg, her mother Nancy Myers-Krell, her stepfather Gordon Krell, her father Paul Myers, and stepmother Joyce (Jones) Myers.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Kim Wilker, Ashley Bryant, Tracy, Melissa, Shannon, Shawn and the entire Grant County Hospice Team for their exceptional care and compassion during this difficult journey. We would have not been able to have Deb home without all of you.
Family and friends may call at the Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore on Sunday, Dec. 14, from noon to 2 p.m. Funeral Services will be at Larson Family Funeral Home at 2 p.m. followed by a procession to the graveside at Prairie Cemetery in Fennimore.
